The end of winter?
~ Thursday, 4th March 2010This winter has been more of a test than some previous ones. We have had to compete in both a harsh economic climate as well as the prolonged snow. We are now pleased to be coming out of the winter and the inside training facilities and shifting our focus towards Easter and the forthcoming summer season. This winter we have been very busy with Key Skills development courses alongside our delivery partners PDS who manage to keep on raising the bar with the delivery of their innovative courses.
The transition to the summer season always builds excitement in the staff team at Boulder. Firstly it means staff training and venue inspection time, in other words we go out and play as a staff team and secondly, it means it is time to gear up for loads of coasteering and canyoning work; always staff favourites.
We are already running gorge scrambling sessions, canyoning will kick off at the start of April to coincide with Easter and coasteering at the end of April.
As an addition to past years' programmes we are now pleased to be able to offer bushcraft skills sessions to groups. Bushcraft sessions can include fire lighting and/or shelter building, dependent upon venue and timescale. If you are interested in having this included in your programmes please give us a ring to discuss. The sessions we have run so far with our youth development courses have been really enjoyable both for staff and participants.
The centre has also had major parts of it redecorated during a quiet week that we had. We also took advantage of this quiet spell to re-equip our kitchen store to allow exclusive use groups the option to choose self catering, while still visiting us for our hospitality and great range of adventure activities. If you require more details about this visit here.
