Gwynedd Council currently have a warning out on Llyn Pardarn because of the presence of toxic blue/green algae in the water. As our water sports centre is on the shores of Llyn Padarn we are feeling the full effect of this warning/closure. Gwynedd council are advising that the lake could still be carefully used for water sports but we do not think the risk is worth it, if we may harm the health of our customers.

We have taken the decision to move all of our water sports to different locations when an alternative activity is not suitable. If you already have a canoeing, kayaking or raft building activity booked please speak with us to learn how you may be affected. We will, of course, be contacting customers as appropriate to let them know of the changes we have planned in their adventure programmes.

At present we have no indication how long the algae will be a problem but rest assured we will be back on Llyn Padarn as soon as it is safe to do so.

More information on the situation can be found at: www.gwynedd.gov.uk
